Eileen Tupman, Author/Designer
Back in the 70’s, Eileen attended the University of Hawaii where she had the opportunity to assist the local farmers conserve their natural resources through her work with the USDA Soil Conservation Service in Hilo. It was then that she fell in love with the Hawaiian culture and, seeing that the culture was being lost to time, she made a silent promise to herself to someday find a way to help.
After a 25-year career in the biotech industry, Eileen decided the time was right to switch gears and put her head where her heart had always been. She spent the next 4 years researching, developing, and ultimately producing two educational Hawaiian games designed to promote the aloha spirit and the Hawaiian culture. That was the beginning of Akamai Games, Inc.
Eileen is committed to developing only the highest quality games to teach about the Hawaiian culture. She hopes that residents of Hawaii, as well as visitors to the islands, will find these delightful games to be a fun way to learn about the Hawaiian culture and, perhaps, be inspired to learn more. It is also hoped that visitors will want to take these wonderful games home to share the aloha with friends and family.
Jeff Pagay, Artist
Born and raised in Hawai’i, Jeff has grown to appreciate the endless beauty of the Hawaiian islands. Primarily self taught, he attended the University of Hawai’i and the Honolulu Academy of Arts. Hawai’i is always a surprising place to Jeff and is the constant inspiration of his art. In addition to illustrating games, Jeff also paints wall murals in homes, businesses and schools, and has illustrated many of Hawai’i’s favorite children’s books.
